A little about me...

I have been interested in art for as long as I can remember. In fact, I won a borough-wide painting competition back when I was in the 5th grade, and it was always my dream to become an artist. I've had many starts and stops along the way, but it seemed that no matter how much I wanted to 'be an artist', my dream always took a back seat. Well, about 6 years ago I decided that enough was enough and it was time to make my dream a reality. I began taking drawing classes at night at Pratt Institute and haven't looked back.

I began my 'professional' artist career in the spring of 2003 and I radically changed my work environment to make this happen. After closing my retail graphics business, I took a year sabbatical to draw, paint and learn. While I currently maintain a part-time freelance graphics and photography business, I have crafted a life where my art takes first priority. In this short time I have had the honor of my work being commissioned, as well as having exhibited in over sixteen shows. My work is in numerous private and corporate collections.

I have studied at Pratt Institute, Parsons School of Design (The New School), The New York Academy of Art, the Brooklyn Botanic Gardens, and privately, and I continue to take art classes. I am an elected member of the Brooklyn Watercolor Society (www.bws.org), a member of BWAC (Brooklyn Waterfront Artists Coalition www.BWAC.org), and am currently the co-chair of the 15th Annual Park Slope Artists Open Studio Tour.
